Technology and Teaching Environments
From Eastern Airlines’ National Data Center in Charlotte to their award-winning New Jersey Reservation Center, Pease was poised to meet the demands of high-tech environments as the designer of these landmark mission-critical facilities completed nationwide.
Education, research and laboratory design were growing areas of emphasis with the Duke University Gross Chemical Laboratories, NC State Food Science Building, UNC Lineberger Cancer Research Center and the development of Central Piedmont Community College. Extensive work with Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools led to over 50 commissions and 30 years of continuous work.
Urban design became a focal point under the leadership of J. Norman Pease Jr., with the master plan of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Government Center. Civil Engineering began working with the City of Lincolnton, one of the firm’s longest-standing clients.
In 1962, the firm’s name changed to J.N. Pease Associates, a name that would remain until 2000.
