Industrial Facility Upfit
Okuma America Corp.
Following the purchase of Borg-Warner’s industrial facility in Charlotte, North Carolina, Okuma called on Pease to upfit this 200,000 SF building into a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility.
Pease designed upfits of the manufacturing facilities and office interiors along with additions to the warehouse and shipping area.
The project required a partnership between Pease and the general contractor to orchestrate a carefully phased renovation program that would allow plant start-up at the earliest possible time. Renovations continued throughout the year without any disruption to plant operations.
Providing ongoing design services for Okuma, Pease also served as design consultants for Okuma’s Technology Institute, which provides classrooms and hands-on training facilities. This included providing structural and electrical design for special machine foundations and equipment.
